Terms of use and privacy policy

String Workforce — String Systems

1. Who we are and what this document covers

This platform is a cloud time-and-attendance service provided by String Systems to companies. These terms apply to every company that registers an account, and to its administrative users and employees who use the service.

By registering your company or using the service you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy below.

2. The account and the company's responsibility

The registering company is responsible for the accuracy of the data it enters, for the accounts of its administrative users and employees, and for keeping passwords confidential.

The company is the party responsible for its employees' data and for informing them how it is used; we process that data on its behalf only to provide the service.

A company can publish its own policy to its employees from the company settings page; it is shown to every employee for their agreement.

3. Subscription and payment

Every company starts with a free trial, then chooses one of the plans shown on the subscription page. The plan sets the number of users and locations and how long attendance photos are kept.

When a subscription ends the company gets a grace period, after which access to the service stops until the subscription is renewed. The company's data stays stored during that time.

4. The data we collect

Data of the company and its administrative users: name, email, phone number and company settings.

Employee data entered by the company: name, employee number, department, job title and contact details.

Attendance data: clock-in, clock-out and break times, the location at the moment of recording, the verification photo if the company enabled it, the device or browser identifier, and the network (IP) address.

Audit logs: who did what and when, to protect accounts and review changes.

5. How we use the data

We use the data only to run the service: recording attendance, producing reports, sending notifications, technical support and protecting accounts.

We do not sell the data or use it for advertising, and we look at a company's data only as far as needed to provide support or fix a problem.

6. Data retention and deletion

Attendance photos are deleted automatically once the retention period set in the company's plan has passed.

The rest of the company's data stays stored for the duration of the subscription, and the company can ask us to delete its data by writing to us.

7. Data protection

The connection to the service is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed rather than as text, each company's data is isolated from the others, and regular backups are taken.

The service offers two-factor authentication and binding an employee to their device; we recommend enabling both.

8. Data sharing

We do not share the data with any other party except hosting and email providers as far as needed to run the service, or where the law requires us to.

9. Employees' rights

An employee can see their attendance record in their account and ask for it to be corrected, and can read in their account the policies they agreed to.

Data is processed in accordance with the Jordanian Personal Data Protection Law No. (24) of 2023. Requests to access, correct or delete data are made to the company the employee works for.

10. Acceptable use

The service may not be used for unlawful purposes, to try to reach another company's data, or to disrupt or abuse the service. We may suspend an account that does so.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version is published on this page, and continuing to use the service after that means agreeing to it.

12. Contact us
