String Workforceby String Systems

Local edition for the company's own computers

The local edition installs String Workforce on a computer in your company so it works fully offline: clock-ins from phones on the office network, administration and reports. When the internet is available it syncs automatically with the platform, and it is activated with a license key tied to your subscription term.

Download the installer (59 MB)

One file: double-click it and accept the permission prompt; the installer window appears. Press “Install” and everything finishes by itself, with an icon on the desktop. If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning choose More info, then Run anyway.

Alternative without the installer: StringWorkforce-Local-1.2.0.zip (59.1 MB) — unzip and run install-local.ps1.

Departures (short leaves) with lateness/early-leave excuse, notification read/handled tracking, requests reviewed by department managers and HR with override, slide setup wizard, early-leave and departures reports, company policy for employees (required before clocking in), terms and privacy page, new glass app icon. Setup repairs settings left by the first install scripts and moves to free ports when another program uses the saved ones.

Installation steps
  1. Requirements: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and administrator rights on the computer. Nothing else needs to be installed.
  2. Download the installer, double-click it, accept the permission prompt and press “Install”.
  3. The system is installed with everything it needs to start automatically with Windows, a “String Workforce” icon is created on the desktop, then the activation page opens.
  4. Paste the license key you receive from String Systems (our team issues it for your company according to the subscription term). Activation needs the internet once to download your company data.
  5. On the computer itself open http://localhost:5090, and from employees' phones on the same network https://this-computer-address:5091 after installing the certificate shown on the employee sign-in page once.

Updates: the local edition downloads new releases from this page automatically when the internet is available and installs them itself.
